Short Bio
In 2007, Lt. Gen. Ahmed was assigned to become the Iraqi Military Inspector and a Lieutenant General in 2008. He was recently promoted as Iraqi Air Force Commander under Ministry of Defense.

He helped to form military security units throughout Kirkuk, Sulaimaniya and Tikrit in Northern Iraq. He was selected to become the Commanding Officer of the 80th Brigade. He helped in the formation of the 33rd Brigade of the Iraqi Civil Defense Corps Battalion in Sulaimaniya, and other Battalions in the 31st Brigade. In addition, he helped in the formation of the 5th Brigade\4th Division and the Coalition when they formed the K-1 Training Center.

Long Bio
Lieutenant General Ahmed graduated from military Academy in 1978 and was commissioned a second lieutenant. In 2007, he was assigned to become the Iraqi Military Inspector and was promoted to Lieutenant General in 2008. Recently, he was promoted as Commander, Iraqi Air Force under Ministry of Defense.

In Kut, Iraq, he was assigned to the mechanized Infantry 24th Brigade, Armed 10th Division. He was assigned to pilot training and received his wings in 1980. He was sent to the 4th Squadron of the Iraqi Air Force where he flew helicopters in all the major battles of the Iran–Iraq war.

He became a 1st Lieutenant in 1981 and a Captain in 1983. In 1985, he became a flight instructor at the Army Air Training Base in Suwaira, south of Baghdad. He was promoted to Major and became the Commanding officer of the 4th Iraqi Army Air Squadron.

In 1992, he became Commanding Officer of Iraq Air Wing and was promoted to Brigadier General in 1996. His first Flag assignment was as manager of Aviation safety for the Iraqi Air Force till 2000. He became the Commander of the Army Air Training Command and was promoted to Major General. His next Flag position was as the Commanding General of the 4th Army Air Command-Baiji until 2003.

Lieutenant General Anwar received various Personal Military Decoration; six for Bravery, two for High Deserving and two for Service.
